This library will encrypt information using the old DES-56 block cipher algorithm, proposed as a standard by the U.S. Government to store sensitive information.
The implementation of this algorithm has been done based on the description written by Matthew Fischer, How to implement the Data Encryption Standard (DES). Also thanks to Kelton Blair Averyt for his collaboration.
In this library I have also included the Base64 encoding library, that you can use to export the encrypted information. In the ZIP file there is also a short example on how to use both objects together.
Fore more information on the DES algorithm, please check Question 64. What is DES? and Question 68. Can DES be exported from the United States? from the RSA Labs FAQ.
